The Edward Carpenter Community
For men who love men

Stevenson Graham

Stevenson, also known as Steven or Steve, passed away in January 2026. A long-time part of the ECC community, he was an inspiring facilitator with an unerring ability to hold the space and to create magic out of thin air. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, humour and unwavering spirit. His absence leaves a void that is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I first met Stevenson at an ECC event at Kench Hill one Summer.

He was a truly awe-inspiring man and a dear friend to many within ECC who radiated warmth and compassion.

He held a deep love for his peers and community which was evident when he was holding space and creating opportunity for people to come together in a way that allowed them to be heard and seen.

He truly was a colourful character , a sage, a pioneer and elder and I had the upmost respect for his care of humanity, his desire to bring gay men together in safe spaces and his truly authentic way of relating to others.

He was a light in a sometimes dark and turbulent world and is sorely missed.

Be at peace dear Man.
