Mark and Till invite you to a walking week in the heart of Scotland
In May, Scotland is at its best – and this is your opportunity to explore some highlights with a group of up to 14 ECC men. Till has worked out the following provisional programme with a good mix of walking, sight-seeing and spending time together with Cherry Tree Lodge in Fife as the base.
Arrival at Cherry Tree Lodge from 5pm, dinner and opening circle in the evening
Walk from Cherry Tree Lodge through West Fife to the medieval village of Culross
The Fife Coastal Path: The Neuk - Pittenweem, Anstruther & Crail
Walk over the Firth of Forth Bridge towards Edinburgh and with rest of the day in Edinburgh
Hiking across the Ochil Hills and storytelling evening
Drummond Castle, Glenturrett Distillery and walk around Crieff
Hiking in the Perthshire Highlands and meal out at the Grouse & Claret, Kinross
Closing circle and departure
Getting to the various destinations will require some car sharing or hiring with costs spread across the group. Cherry Tree Lodge is located in the scenic Paradise of Fife and will be your home, offering a cosy atmosphere surrounded by nature. Mark will provide a hearty breakfast and a yummy lunch or dinner (half board). We will have the third meal of the day whilst out and about. As in the Laurieston tradition, everybody contributes a bit to running the household. Till is doing the planning for the walks and will join on some of the days. In the evenings we will chill and relax, sit round the fire, play games, potter in the art studio, listen to Beverley (a professional story teller) or watch the musical Sunshine on Leith cinema style.
Car sharing / car rental / petrol & insurance — £60 approx
Accommodation & half board
Cherry Tree Lodge (breakfast + 5 dinners and 2 lunches) — £400
Rest of meals on the hoof
Shops, snack bars, cafés or pubs in Culross, Anstruther, Edinburgh, Kinross, Crieff & Aberfeldy
To be organised by yourself
The event guide price is £400. As with other ECC events, price shouldn’t be a barrier to attending. Just get in touch and we will work it out using a bursary fund, contributions to which are welcome.
