A self care week to nourish body & soul. A space for sharing gentle exercises, quiet reflection, meditation, music and exploration of the beautiful surroundings of the North York Moors and nearby coast in ‘Flaming June’. We plan daily Base Groups and a Heart Circle, as usual at ECC gatherings.
Ample opportunities for offering workshops and trips; including sun (Yorkshire permitting!), company & afternoon tea on the south facing verandah.
Self catering, fun in the kitchen and culinary experiments. Bring your own favourite recipes? Washing up is always welcome instead of cooking. It is a great venue to try out your cooking; enough men to help the cooking process, yet not a daunting number of people to feed.
We look forward to being with you in high summer.
Accommodation and facilities
Barmoor is owned by a Quaker trust in a remote moor location. The place is entirely ours for the week with no residents or staff. There are 27 beds in 9 bedrooms. We plan to cap at 22 beds used. All of them are single beds, not bunks. There is plenty of carpet space between each bed. There are 3 open fires with plenty of fuel and a good supply of sofas to put round them. There is a piano. There is no WiFi and the mobile phone signal is patchy. The nearest WiFi is a 15 min walk to the pub. Barmoor has a pay phone that can take incoming calls.
Barmoor is located just out of the village of Hutton-le-Hole near the market town of Kirkbymoorside. The postcode to enter into a sat-nav is YO62 6UE. The nearest station is Malton, on the York to Scarborough line.
