Dance Between Power & Intimacy

All relationships involve power and intimacy. In this week we explore those elements as they play themselves out in all our relationships - including our relationship with that which we find ultimate in the universe.

Our group becomes a laboratory in which we perfect the skills that will enable us to enter into relationships with deep intimacy and shared power. Our days begin with optional activities such as journaling, meditation and some form of meditative movement like chi gong or yoga.

During the first days we will use dialogue, touch, movement, conscious breath work and meditation to create a safe space in which to explore the erotic elements of our dance, sometimes without clothing but always with the highest degree of respect. We will explore how moving sexual energy to all parts of our bodies leads to states that in other disciplines, such as meditation or yoga, we might reach only after years of study. The erotic becomes a path to higher wisdom and higher consciousness.

In smaller groups we will explore such questions as: Do you give away your power to obtain intimacy? Do you to take control in order to gain intimacy? What feelings come up as you work with erotic energy in a group setting? What feelings come up when you consider bondage, spanking, and other expressions of power that might have an erotic context?

In the last days of the week, we will create personal rituals that will incorporate the elements that we've been exploring - rituals that will help us take the understanding that we've developed out into the world.

The Organisers

	Vyvyan Chatterjie is studying at the Carl Jung Institute in Zurich and deeply believes that to be a good teacher one should always have student mind. He has organised and facilitated a number of ECC weeks. He has practiced as a spiritual counselor and minister after training at the Interfaith Seminary in London. Balancing the work with private clients (and himself), Vyvyan works as a community builder, within ECC and especially at Folleterre Euofaerie Sanctuary.
	Marco Whiting has facilitated at ECC weeks since 2003 and is also involved with radical faerie events at Folleterre and elsewhere.
	Sunfire has been leading events that combine spirit and body since 1988. He has studied with the Body Electric School, from which he holds certificates in massage, breath work and sacred intimacy. He is certified as an Advanced Energy Healer by the Inner Focus School. He is presently a resident at Easton Mountain Retreat in New York State, where he assists at community-led retreats with meditations and workshops on healing.
